 FAQs

  • IThis is a fully virtual event — a summit — for leaders of all levels who want to improve their leadership skills.

It is free for attendees to watch live, but if they want to watch any and all sessions at their own pace, they need to sign up for an "All Access Pass." Currently the All Access Pass costs $97 before and during the event. It will go up to $127 post-event. This pass doesn’t expire.

The summit features various successful coaches, consultants and business leaders. The goal is to bring together a committed group of professionals who contribute to the event by pooling our collective audiences and skills to create something great — beyond the power of one person to create alone.

  • Here are few important thoughts to keep in mind as you prepare:

    1. You will need to start and end within an hour. It is a hard stop so please plan accordingly.

      • If you need to go over the time limit because you have so much to share, I recommend you record those extra thoughts in a video/Zoom recording and offer to send them as an additional freebie.

    2. The audience is here to improve their own leadership skills, so please make sure to balance your own story with the lesson you are trying to share.

    3. If you are a coach or consultant, please don’t make it one long pitch to sell a product. I would heavily encourage the following format:

      1. Brief Intro to help establish credibility

      2. Lesson/Tool - This should be the longest component of your session.

      3. Pitch Your Freebie/Opt-in (more on this below)

      4. Q&A

Please focus on delivering a really educational, actionable session. I will be in each session in some capacity to help with any technical issues and support.

  • Our goal during the summit is to make the event worth paying attention to. We're aiming to make people think "The thing I've always wanted to know? I should really work on it — and these people can help me." And then our goal is to make the All Access Pass seem worth their time — even a rare opportunity to make progress.

Just to be clear:  As I mentioned before, if an attendee watches the entire event live, they can get every session for free. In order to watch a particular talk outside of the live recording, they need to buy the Pass.

Why contribute a bonus to the All Access Pass?

As a Speaker, you have the option to provide a freebie to everyone or only those with the pass. You can actually offer more than one thing. For example, a freebie for everyone and a special discount for those with the Pass.

    Why do this? Because it...

    1. Makes the All Access Pass more appealing and increases your chance of earning affiliate income.

    2. Makes people interested in you and more likely to seek you out.

    3. Places your bonus behind an email sign up so you can contact them later.

    What are some freebie/bonus offerings?

    • A pdf / guide / mini-course

    • A free ebook

    • A free chapter of your book

    • A discount on your services

    • A free sample of your services

    • A follow-up lesson to your session

    • I will not share or sell email addresses. An attendee should only receive emails/messages/etc from sources they have signed up for/consented to. For example, the only way an attendee should receive direct communication from me is because 1) they signed up for and to hear about the summit or 2) they are on my personal mailing list. The only way an attendee should receive communication from you, a speaker, is that they opted in to hear from you via some kind of opt-in on your website.

To add additional context, imagine registering for a multi-day conference and having every speaker/sponsor suddenly start to email you simply from the registration. It doesn’t happen. This is why I highly recommend having an opt-in of some kind so that you can capture emails, if you are interested in doing so.

How can I get registrant’s emails?

I highly recommend offering some freebie/bonus via an opt-in on your website/landing page. Here are some examples of compelling freebies/bonuses:

    • A pdf / guide / mini-course

    • A free ebook

    • A free chapter of your book

    • A discount on your services

    • A free sample of your services

    • A follow-up lesson to your session

  • Absolutely!!

If you are looking to grow your mailing list or gain potential clients, I would end the talk with something like...

    1. "If you are struggling with the same problems I described…."

    2. "Here's a special offer on my solution…"

    3. "And here is the evidence it works…"

If you are NOT trying to grow a mailing list, your freebie/offer can just be included on the main talk page. You can decide to offer it to everyone or only those who have purchased the pass.

For those trying to GROW their mailing list, I recommend sending people to a landing page on your website where they can sign up for something free. You can do this through sharing a link on the talk page or adding a QR code to your slides. Either way is fine.

    Here are few freebie ideas:

    • a free book chapter or excerpt

    • the waiting list to your course

    • a portion of the course

    • a simple pdf download that expands on your session topic

This approach is low-stakes and gets people on your mailing list. After the summit,  you can try multiple times to pitch your paid product. Please be clear with people about what they are signing up for. If you plan to email them after the event is over, say so.

Please note- if you plan to email participants your offer, I highly encourage you sign up or use a mailing service. There are many options to choose from. Personally, I use Flodesk because I like the functionality. But you might want to go with a service that offers smaller free accounts such as ConvertKit or MailChimp.

  • YES!!! I encourage everyone involved in this summit to become an affiliate. It's also possible to be an affiliate and not speak. The idea is really simple. If someone uses your affiliate link, registers, and buys the All Access Pass, we split the proceeds of that purchase 50/50.

You don’t have to be an affiliate, but if you are a speaker, I highly encourage it. This is important. You should use your unique URL every time you talk about this event. The system will track everyone who signs up via your link. And if at any time they later buy the All Access Pass, you get 50% of those proceeds.

    IMPORTANT

This is obviously not a guarantee of income.

It's completely dependent on how many people you send over, and how many of them buy the pass with your link. I will do my best to have a compelling line up of speakers and topics to make the pass irresistible, but I can't guarantee, or even really predict, what this will mean for you.

To repeat: The summit is free to watch live. So sharing your affiliate link is not a guarantee of income. People might not register using your link, or they might register but not buy the All Access Pass.

Being an affiliate is not a guarantee of income.

But the more you share your link, the more chances you will have that people will use it to sign up and buy.

So please talk about the summit as much as possible. Talk about a speaker you know. Talk about a freebie. Talk about a leadership challenge or issue you believe the summit will address.

And as an affiliate, you are welcome to contribute a bonus to the All Access Pass. That's another way to build your audience.

    Rules for affiliates

Payouts come 30 days after the ticket is sold. They are after any refunds. So, if a person requests a refund, neither of us get that income.

Feel free to share the bejesus out of your affiliate link. Put it everywhere. Buy ads on Facebook if you like. I encourage you to share the link frequently. But the goal for this summit is, to repeat, to give everyone a good, learning experience, from start to finish.

    Specifically, please do not:

    • Use your own affiliate link to buy stuff yourself (if you want an All Access Pass, just ask).

    • Promise results the summit cannot deliver ("Register to be a CEO by next year!")

    • Share the link in places that specifically forbid self-promotion, like Facebook groups that you don't run yourself (this is why an email mailing list is so valuable — you get to set the rules).

Please know that I reserve the right to investigate issues, delay payments, or remove people from the affiliate program who break rules or who try to deliberately harm the summit experience.

A Few Final Thoughts

The summit experience should be a great one for attendees and provide excellent, actionable value. They should experience it as an insightful few days where the speakers and hosts have their best interests in mind. I feel very strongly about keeping these leaders as the primary focus - making their learning a priority.

The summit experience should also be great for you - the speakers. If something doesn’t meet your expectation, I’ll do my best to address it as quickly as possible.

Respect is expected from both attendees and speakers. If someone is unable or unwilling to follow this basic principle, I will remove them from the session and/or summit.

Thanks for being a part of this event!!
